Friedson Endorsed by National Progressive Group Run for Something in District 1

Joins 40 1st Time Candidates Across Country Viewed As Party’s Future Leaders

Feb. 28, 2018- Run for Something (RFS) announced 40 endorsees will be strong voices in the next generation of progressive leadership. For Montgomery County Council in District 1, RFS is excited to endorse Andrew Friedson, who has demonstrated a track record of progressive accomplishments on the issues we care about, will make him a strong, progressive leader in Maryland.

“We are thrilled to have the strong support of RFS and to join such a talented group of candidates from across the country,” Friedson said. “Our campaign has always been about engaging new people in the process by inspiring them to believe that government, starting at the local level, can actually solve problems and improve lives. For us, running for something isn’t about running for an office – it’s about running for something more: a future that’s more inclusive, more prosperous, and more just.”

“These first time candidates all have the heart and hustle that is so important to us at RFS, and we are proud to give them our endorsement,” said Ross Morales Rocketto, co-founder of Run for Something. “Put simply, they are the type of people we think the Party needs and the type of candidates who are going to work hard. They are knocking on doors and stepping up to run grassroots, community-led campaigns.”

The Run for Something endorsement process includes an extensive internal review with background check, staff interview and insight from local state experts.
